Heating Assistance Rebate Program

Receive $1000 to help heat your home this winter

The Heating Assistance Rebate Program (HARP) helps low-and-middle income Nova Scotians with the cost of home heating. The rebate is $1,000.

Applying online is the fastest way to apply, and direct deposited rebates are the faster way to receive your rebate. If your income tax refund is direct deposited, your heating assistance rebate will be too. If not, your rebate will be mailed to you.

On 30 January 2023, the rebate amount and income threshold increased.

You don’t need to apply for the rebate again if you already applied. If you were approved, you will receive a top-up payment. If you were previously denied based on income, and your income is now within the new threshold, you will receive your rebate payment. Please allow 2 to 8 weeks for your payment to be received.
